\"\"Last Friday, the City of Bunnell<\/a>, PC Construction and CPH<\/a> gathered with local officials to celebrate the official groundbreaking for the Bunnell Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion project. This project is part of the City\u2019s continued efforts to bring the plant up to advanced wastewater treatment standards and to meet environmental sustainability requirements.<\/p>\n

The original facility, which was built in the early 1970s, has only received two upgrades to its processes \u2013 in 1992 and 2004. The current expansion will double the facility\u2019s treatment capacity to 1.2 mgd and essentially eliminate all wet weather discharges, significantly reducing total nitrogen and total phosphorus loads to receiving waters.<\/p>\n

“The expansion of our Wastewater Treatment Plant will more than double the City\u2019s ability to treat and process wastewater,\u201d said Mayor Catherine D. Robinson, City of Bunnell.\u00a0 \u201cThis is a testament to what we can achieve as we work together for the City of Bunnell and it underscores our commitment to preparing for Bunnell\u2019s growth, progress, and continued excellence.\u201d<\/p>\n

This expansion will provide a solid foundation for Bunnell\u2019s infrastructure to protect the health and safety of residents, businesses and visitors both today and in the future.<\/p>\n
