Hosted by Casella, the event recognized the community of construction partners dedicated to making this project a resounding success.<\/p>\n<p>When the existing office building was destroyed in Vermont\u2019s devastating 2023 flood, Casella teamed with PC Construction to bring the facility back to life. The new three-level, 8,000-square-foot building was constructed as an addition to an existing warehouse and includes office space on the upper two floors and storage on the lower level. The existing warehouse also received upgrades for code compliance.<\/p>\n<p>Built within the Winooski River floodway, the new building features several components that will ensure any future heavy rain events do not impact the building\u2019s operations. For example, flood vents on the lower level allow for future flood water to pass through the building and the elevator is equipped with a flood sensor that will send the elevator cab to the top floor when water is present in the elevator pit. In addition, all electrical gear in the existing warehouse was raised to be above the floodplain.<\/p>\n<p>We are proud to work with owners to reinvigorate their buildings and facilities after disaster strikes.
