Immediately following award, we proceeded with extensive preconstruction services, including estimates and constructability reviews, which have been provided continuously throughout the design phases.<\/p>\n<p>To date, four GMPs (Guaranteed Max Prices) have been established totaling over $16 million, including the early procurement of pre-engineered buildings, construction of the maintenance facility, early procurement of the rotary dewatering presses and construction of the treatment facility upgrade. Construction began in May 2015 with two new maintenance facility buildings that include administration offices, workshop and equipment storage for the Collections and Maintenance group. This phase of the project was substantially complete in November 2015 and owner-occupied one month later.<\/p>\n<p>The next phase &#8211; the treatment facility &#8211; kicked off in March of this year with the demolition of the control building. The upgrade includes a renovation of the control building administration offices and laboratory, new headworks with septage receiving unit and mechanical wash screen\/press, secondary clarifier drive replacements, trickling filter drive and distributor arm replacements, primary clarifier drive replacements, dewatering presses, SCADA system, and electrical, HVAC, and architectural upgrades throughout the facility.<\/p>\n<p>The project is on track for substantial completion in October 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Brunswick WWTF Upgrade Phase 1 project first kicked off in November 2014 when PC Construction was selected as the construction manager for the State of Maine\u2019s first DEP State Revolving Funded water\/wastewater treatment construction management-at-risk project.
