The $30 million facility will augment the city\u2019s existing treatment plant, which has neared capacity, and accommodate continued growth and development in the area.<\/p>\n<p>The new facility will provide an additional 2 million gallons of treatment capacity per day. The resulting high-quality effluent will be used for irrigation and groundwater recharge, allowing the City to conserve potable water and decreatse the rate of groundwater withdrawal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUp until now, Palm Coast customers have had to dip into their potable water supply for agricultural uses, which has further constrained the plant\u2019s capacity,\u201d said Jim Landon, Palm Coast City Manager. \u201cSo this new plant is a critical component of the City\u2019s future development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis project is exactly the reason why water and wastewater treatment construction is so important,\u201d said Jay Fayette, president and chief operating officer at PC Construction. \u201cWith the addition of this facility, the City of Palm Coast will be able to efficiently meet the city\u2019s growth needs in a more efficient and sustainable manner.
