In total, over 147,000 square feet of renovations and nearly 135,000 square feet of additions were completed at the Mildred L. Day School, Kennebunkport Consolidated School, and Kennebunk High School. A defining attribute of this project was the owner\u2019s decision to utilize a construction management model, rather than the typical design-bid-build structure utilized by the majority of Maine school-specific projects. This allowed for unique subcontractor and vendor procurement strategies that provided best cost and value for RSU 21 while creating a collaborative approach to completing this complex project.<\/p>\n<p>By December 2018, all efforts prevailed. The project was completed on time and budget, and nearly 500,000 work hours were expended with zero lost-time injuries.
